A four (04) days’ "IAEA National Workshop on Nuclear Law: The Legal Frameworks for Nuclear Safety and Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage" was held from August 19-22, 2024 at PNRA Headquarters, Islamabad. The objective of the workshop was to enhance knowledge of Nuclear Law, with a particular focus on Legal Frameworks for Nuclear Safety and Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage, international legal instruments and the essential elements required for a comprehensive national nuclear legislation in the area. The said workshop was inaugurated by Member (Corporate), Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority.

The workshop was organized by PNRA, in collaboration with IAEA and a diverse group of nuclear professionals, researchers, and lawyers participated in this workshop. International experts from IAEA, Hungary, Canada, France, Serbia and USA shared their valuable knowledge and experience. PNRA Representative also shared national practices. The workshop remained beneficial for enhancing the knowledge and understanding of participants in relation to the complex legal framework that underpins nuclear safety, nuclear security, safeguard and civil liability for nuclear damage.
