NUCLEAR SAFETY CLASS EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS AND SERVICE PROVIDER

There are three equipment manufacturers and one service provider in the country for manufacturing of Nuclear Safety Class-1 (NSC-1) equipment and for provision of specialized services to nuclear power plants respectively. These include Heavy Mechanical Complex-3 (HMC-3) and NOVEL Engineering Works (NEW-2) and Instrumentation Control and computer complex (ICCC) as equipment manufacturers and National Centre for Non-Destructive Testing (NCNDT) as service provider.

Heavy Mechanical Complex-3 (HMC-3)

NOVEL Engineering Works (NEW-2)

PNRA has granted license to NOVEL Engineering Works (NEW-2) for manufacturing of Nuclear Safety Class (NSC) equipment. The Manufacturing License (ML) to NEW-2 as NSC-1 equipment manufacturer was issued in April 2018 which is valid till December 2022. PNRA inspectors perform regulatory inspections in order to verify compliance with the regulatory requirements.

Instrumentation Control and Computer Complex (ICCC)

PNRA has granted license to Instrumentation Control and Computer Complex (ICCC) for manufacturing of safety class I&C equipment for research reactors. The Manufacturing License (ML) to ICCC was issued in June 2022 which is valid till June 2027. PNRA inspectors perform regulatory inspections in order to verify compliance with the regulatory requirements.

National Centre for Non-Destructive Testing (NCNDT)

PNRA has authorized the National Centre for Non-Destructive Testing (NCNDT) for performing Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities during Pre-service and In-service Inspections (PSI/ISI) of Safety Class 1, 2 and 3 equipment and piping as per ASME B&PV and RSE-M code. The first authorization to NCNDT was issued in December 2015. The authorization was revalidated in December 2020 with validity till December 2025. PNRA inspectors perform regulatory inspections in order to verify compliance with the regulatory requirements.
