Policies and Procedures Directorate(PPD) has the
following job responsibilities:

Prepare guidelines/procedures for the preparation
of all PNRA documents like regulations, regulatory guides, guidelines,
policies, internal working procedures etc. |

Define the review process and timing of the PNRA prepared
documents. |
3 |
Gazette notification/final printing of PNRA Regulations/Regulatory
Guides, Guidelines etc. |
4 |
Establish a framework of legal and guidance instruments (e.g.
rules, regulations, orders, codes of practice, policies and
guides) on which to base regulatory actions. |
5 |
Make available final soft and hard copies of all the approved
and printed documents to all the PNRA Officers as well as for
the licensee. |
6 |
Prepare/review Authorization Procedures, Review and Assessment
Procedures, Inspections Procedures, Enforcement Procedures to
comply PNRA Ordinance and Regulations. |
7 |
Establish a system for Coding, Numbering and Central Registration
of PNRA documents. |
8 |
Establish the enforcement policies for the radioactive waste
which is mainly generated from nuclear, medical, industrial
and research applications of radioactive material etc. |
9 |
Review the emergency plans prepared by the licensee/off-site
authorities for actions to be taken following foreseeable types
of nuclear or radiological accidents that might affect the public
according to PNRA Ordinance/Regulations as well as with the
International Practice. |

Guide the regional directorates of PNRA for the legal enforcement
actions for breaching, damaging, theft or illegal use of radiation
sources/equipment, over exposure to the patient/ radiation worker
etc. |
11 |
Make policies/actions for the emergency preparedness at PNRA
for the nuclear facilities including research reactors, power
reactors, fuel cycle facilities, medical, agricultural and research
centers, etc. |
12 |
Prepare Policies/Procedures at nuclear facilities including
research reactors, power reactors, fuel cycle facilities, medical,
agricultural and research centers may be according to the national
and international obligations on safety matters. |
